About the Role

At S45 we are building an AI native investment bank that treats data, models and workflows as core product, not back office.

As an Applied AI Engineer you design and ship AI systems that read, interpret and act on financial information. Your work powers document understanding, IPO readiness scoring, investor analytics and advisor tooling. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys going from idea to prototype to reliable production service.

What you will do

Build AI agents for document summarisation, extraction, validation and generation

• Design and maintain RAG pipelines, including retrieval, indexing and evaluation

• Work with vector stores and search infrastructure using tools such as Pinecone, Weaviate or Elasticsearch

• Implement orchestration flows in Python using LangGraph or light custom frameworks

• Ship APIs and internal tools using FastAPI and related libraries

• Collaborate with product, founders and banking teams to define what good looks like and then measure it

What we are looking for

At least 3 years of experience building applied ML or LLM based systems

• Strong Python fundamentals and confidence working close to data and infra

• Practical experience with RAG, embeddings, prompt routing and evaluation

• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph or similar orchestration patterns

• Comfort working in open problem spaces, with quick iteration and clear communication

Bonus: experience with financial, legal or compliance grade documents
